Babar Azam, Pakistan’s prominent batsman, has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC ODI batsmen rankings, surpassing Shubman Gill, who now holds the second position.
Gill’s absence from the ongoing ODI series against South Africa contributed to this change. Babar Azam currently leads the rankings with an impressive 824 rating points, closely followed by Gill in second place with 810 points.
Babar Azam’s below-par performance during the first Test against Australia, resulting in Pakistan’s 360-run loss, led to his drop from fourth to fifth position in the rankings, with a total of 801 rating points.
In the Perth Test, his contributions were limited to 21 runs in the first innings and 14 runs in the second innings.
Meanwhile, Kane Williamson maintains his position at the top of the Test batsmen rankings with a total of 864 rating points.
