The resurgence of conspiracy theories surrounding Michael Jackson has been sparked by comments from his collaborator and producer, Teddy Riley, suggesting the late singer might still be alive.
Riley, 51, known for his work with Jackson on the Dangerous album, has stirred speculation with his belief in Jackson’s continued existence.
Challenging the widely accepted narrative of Jackson’s passing in Los Angeles on June 25, 2009, Riley took to Twitter in November 2010, stating, “If people can think Elvis is still alive why the F#*@ I cant [sic] think Michael is still alive.”
His tweet came shortly after a fan shared Akon’s belief in Jackson’s concealment and eventual return, to which Riley responded, “Akon is my friend and we think alike.”
